I have noticed a trend on this site on the LETS TALK board someone will post an article or item that should provoke a damned good discussion but,little or nothing happens there are perhaps 25+ views and 2 answers then the whole thread grinds to a halt.Are you all so apathetic and/or lacking in opinions,that you can't be bothered to answer a post and/or create some decent challenging conversation.

Goblin I guess there are some things that you think will provoke a damn good discussion when you post them, but people are not really interested. I happened to think that jurors being told about previous convictions would be quite a hot topic for UK zone users, it certainly upsets me quite a lot that the government disregards due process so freely, but oh well, that discussion still remains with one post only. You can't force peoeple to discuss something they're not interested in discussing, and after all, there are at least engaging personalities to keep the intensive, incisive analysis and heated political exchanges going.
Hmm Heated Debates, Why Yes, there are Heated Debates... ******Goblin, Guess What????? Just Got Back from aVote-ing... just sharing my experience as it were... Left home to go to Polls to Vote. Arrived at Polls. {Time approx 5 minutes.} Got in Line to like Sign-In at 1:35pm ... SEVERAL Youth {18 year/older} in line hollared out to me, "Hi Mrs. -------- " and I gave "HI! with a *smile* in return. WAIT ... WAIT ... WAIT in Line. Signed a paper giving my NAME and ADDRESS and BIRTH DATE. Guy at table with books looked up my name and checked me off. Gal at table handed me BALLOT in a folder. Got in ANOTHER Line to WAIT ... ... to go to little like standing DESK-Thingy. With marker drew connecting lines for those I so desired to VOTE for as well as Issues/Proposals on BALLOT. One had to do with Issues/Proposals of like "Gambel-ing" AND THE OTHER with "Marriage Unions" {like should be one man- one woman OR otherwise}. After the marking of BALLOT then in ANOTHER Line to where top portion of BALLOT that like gives Identification of BALLOT, ripped off and card/paper orginally wrote on coming in where NAME & ADDRSS & BIRTH DATE, that paper, handed to a person for some other mark to be made in City Clerk Record Books. THEN FINALLY! I like VOTEd! when BALLOT I required to slip into this MACHINE that automatically totals the markings I made on my PERSONAL BALLOT. WHEW!!!!!! By 2:00 pm I was leaving the School Building where for the place I live is where I go to Polls to VOTE. Back home by 2:05 pm. ..... Cat-lover, I quite agree, I don't see what the point of about half this discussion is. I mean, what the hell have rodents in china got to do with anything? Cat-lover, Lawlord you have hit the nail right on the head. 'Whining when he doesn't get enough attention' describes it perfectly, it took Alex only a few weeks on this board to start behaving exactly as he did on eyes2, some of the posts even sound the same. But as i keep saying some are determined to create animosity where I'm concerned such bitterness is very difficult to endure and I for 1 am sick and bloody tired of these morons harping on about an unfortunate episode that is now several months old!.
I have no idea what this episode is or was, but don't take it so much to heart! If people want to talk about the news or politics on here, they can, or alternatively they can talk about anything they want to. Surely it isn't that important to you is it? I mean, nobody makes you post or read these discussions. If you want to discuss deeply and meaningfully, there are a lot of philosophy societies up in your neck of the woods, my tutor learned his trade at one of them.
When I say tutor, I mean one of my tutors at Oxford University, because the way it read before makes me sound like one of the boys you read about in Jane Austen novels with tutors and governesses. anyway Goiblin he was a great guy and they certainly deeply and meaningfully discussed all sorts of issues there.
